A day in the life of CREC Trainee Teacher
Megan Bartlam shares with us a wealth of experiences, emotions, hard work and satisfaction every day brings her. Learn about her daily interactions with colleagues and children as she navigates her journey towards becoming a teacher.
As a trainee teacher, I feel each day is another chance to make a difference to the lives of my students. With a heart full of passion and a mind filled with creative ideas, I feel excited every time I step into the world of EYFS education.
In the Early Years setting, the classroom is bursting with endless possibilities. The opportunity to spark curiosity and wonder in all children is always present. My day consist of setting up engaging learning corners, leading playful exploration activities, bringing stories to life and observing the magic of discovery unfold. As the day progresses with teaching mathematics, guiding art projects and facilitating group discussions, I am constantly inspired by the enthusiasm of each child. I must navigate the diverse needs of all children, using a variety of teaching strategies to ensure every child has the chance to achieve. This could be leading a class discussion, facilitating group work, or providing one-on-one support. I always aim to foster an inclusive environment where everyone is valued and heard.
Together, we embark on a journey of learning and growth, where every challenge is met with determination and every success celebrated with joy. Throughout the day, I am surrounded by a supportive community of mentors and colleagues. Their helpful guidance and feedback provide insights that help me refine my practice. I take every moment as a chance to learn and grow, embracing the challenges that come my way. When the day draws to a close, I am filled with a sense of pride for the opportunity to make a positive impact on children I teach.
On the CREC SCITT programme, every day is filled with learning and opportunities. I am thankful to be a part of this incredible journey.
