Remembering Dr Rosemary Peacocke HMI

Dr Rosemary Peacocke HMI, Oxford, 2011

Dr Rosemary Peacocke HMI

We are greatly saddened to hear of the recent death of Dr Rosemary Peacocke, HMI. From our earliest start at CREC, she was a generous and kind mentor and guided us carefully on how to make our way and make a difference for young children’s lives. She also was a rock when we established CREC as an independent body, always believing we could make a better contribution that way. As Chair of the CREC Board of Trustees she gave us status, visibility and advice that we really benefited from and she combined that with being a kind and generous friend on many levels, always operating with the utmost integrity and a strong ethical code. We have many happy memories of being with her and witnessed many a time when she stood up for what was right. Formidable and humane and very, very wise. Such a powerful force for children all her life, and such a role model for us all - she will be missed.

We send our deepest condolences, love and best wishes to her family at this difficult time.

Professor Chris Pascal and Professor Tony Bertram, on behalf of all the CREC team and Board of Trustees.
