CREC welcomes new trustee Helen Moylett

The Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC) welcomes Helen Moylett as a trustee. Helen  is an independent early years consultant, trainer and writer. She has been a primary, nursery and home school liaison teacher, a local authority senior advisory teacher on early literacy and a senior lecturer in primary and early years education at Manchester Metropolitan University.  In 2000 she left academia to become head of an early years centre.  In 2004 she joined the National Strategies. She was on the national steering group for Birth to Three Matters and was centrally involved in developing the Early Years Foundation Stage as well as many of the National Strategies materials associated with the EYFS. She was also the national lead for the Every Child a Talker programme. She served as an expert adviser to the Tickell EYFS review team and has recently been working on the revised EYFS Development Matters practice guidance.  Helen is currently President of the British Association of Early Childhood Education (Early Education) and a Visiting Fellow of Oxford Brookes University.

About joining CREC, Helen says: ' I have been engaged in professional dialogue with CREC for many years - as a university researcher, a practitioner researcher with an interest in projects such as EEL, and as a National Strategies adviser with a national policy brief. In all these roles I found the support and challenge offered was first class. I am really pleased to be joining the trustees of CREC so I can do my bit to help the good work continue for the benefit of so many children, families and practitioners.'
