Celebrating CREC's PhD alumni

Prof Chris Pascal & Prof Tony Bertram toasting doctoral success at CREC with 10 of the 13 PhD students they have supervised to completion since 2005 (September 2022)

Recently at CREC we held a celebratory event in honour of our PhD alumni since 2005.

'The work of the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC) in Birmingham is enriched by an informed, lively and supportive community of practitioner researchers who are undertaking a wide range of fascinating and ground breaking early years projects whilst studying for their higher degrees. Our research community is making a significant contribution to knowledge generation about the development of high quality early years practice and we are very proud of them. We were especially delighted to celebrate the success of our growing circle of CREC doctoral alumni in person at CREC recently where we all agreed to keep connected and light the candles of others who share our mission wherever and whenever we can! If you want to connect with CREC and find out more about our PhD alumni, please come and join our CREC Learning Circle.
C. Pascal.

CREC directors, Chris Pascal and Tony Bertram have, in the period of time since CREC has been an independent organisation, supervised 13 PhDs to completion and are currently supervising a further 16 in conjunction with University of Wolverhampton and Birmingham City University. This event enabled doctoral alumni to connect and celebrate with one another at CREC and then to enjoy a meal
