CREC in partnership with Teach First offers an Early Years (3-7 yrs) specialist route into teaching. This is a school-centred initial teacher training that will enable you to learn on the job from day one, in a school near you. This training is ideal for those who would like to not only educate young children but also facilitate their development that will prepare and equip them for future challenges and make them thrive.

Book a place on this drop in session at CREC to see the training venue, meet tutors face-to-face, learn more about our SCITT and have all your questions answered.

Our core aim is to help you become a confident, knowledgeable and highly employable teacher with a passion for working with young children.

Our high-quality mentors and tutors have extensive practical experience and will help you succeed by offering consistent guidance and personalised support throughout the course.

We are based at a centre of outstanding early years integrated practice, St Thomas Nursery School and Children’s Centre in central Birmingham.

All placements are set at a diverse range of 'Good' or 'Outstanding' schools across the West Midlands (Birmingham, Solihull, Warwickshire).

Alongside the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), awarded by Teach First, this course also carries a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) awarded by Sheffield Hallam University.
