Christmas closure notice

Our dear friends, colleagues and wider CREC community

It has been an incredible year; although it has brought a lot of challenges and change, we are proud of how our small team have met those head-on.

Thank you to all of you who have worked extra hard with us this year to ensure we continue providing excellent services and support to our students - especially our tutors, our mentors and project partners. Thank you also to all our students who have put their trust in us and enrolled as new CREC students this year, and those that have carried on - despite the many challenges the pandemic has brought AND long screen time. We hope you have found your academic journey so far useful and inspiring, our staff and tutors knowledgeable and helpful, and that we have been able to meet your needs well.

All in all, we think, it's been pretty full-on since March and we all (this means both you and we!) deserve a wellbeing break to recharge our batteries! We have therefore taken a collective decision to close for Christmas a little bit earlier this year. You may well relate, but we think it is pretty hard to switch off when you are working remotely, so we thought we'd let you know about this "out of virtual office" notice which means we will not be monitoring our organisation or personal accounts from 4pm Friday 18th December until 8am Monday 4th January.

We ask that you join us (if you can) and/or enable us to switch off and enjoy the festivities (we all need that extra bit of Christmas cheer this year!) If you are planning to work/study up until Christmas Eve and could do with chatting something through with us, how about typing it up while it's fresh in your mind and saving it as a draft to send in the new year? Please also note study resources are available in the CREC community of Practice Moodle area.

If you’re a current CREC students and need wellbeing support over this period, we would encourage you to visit the Togetherall page.

Last but not least, we want to wish you all a lovely holiday season and quality time with your loved ones.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at CREC. x
