CREC works in an advisory capacity with a number of government bodies and providers of early childhood services, internationally, nationally, regionally and at a local authority level.

  • Professor Pascal is a Specialist Adviser for Early Years to the House of Commons' Select Committe on Education and Skills;
  • She was awarded an OBE for her services to children in 2003
  • She is former President and current Vice President of BAECE
  • She is President of the Westminster Children's Society
  • Professor Bertram and Professor Pascal are members of the Early Education Advisory Group which advises the Minister for Children and Families
  • CREC is a strategic partner of the City of Birmingham's Children, Young People and Family Partnership
  • Both Directors have worked for the British Council abroad
  • Both Directors have worked with the OECD on international reports on early childhood service
  • Both Directors have worked with Government bodies such as the DfES Sure Start Unit, The Gifted and Talented Unit, the Inclusion Unit, QCA and the Foundation Stage National Strategy Team to produce documents or to give advice and consultancy.
